How to check if Windows Feature is installed and enabled with DISM.exe?

Windows Features are a set of tools and programs in the Windows operating system that allow for easy and convenient installation, removal, and management of other Windows programs. Windows Features are managed by the Windows Package Manager, DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management). DISM is a command-line tool used to manage Windows Features and packages in the Windows operating system. DISM can be used to check if a Windows Feature is installed and enabled on a system.

To check if a Windows Feature is installed and enabled on a system using DISM, first open the command prompt with administrator privileges. Then, at the command prompt, type “DISM/Online/Get-Features”. This command will list all of the features that are available to be installed on the system. To find out if a specific feature is installed and enabled, type “DISM/Online/Get-Features/FeatureName”, where “FeatureName” is the name of the feature you are checking for.

For example, to check if the Windows Media Player is installed and enabled on the system, type “DISM/Online/Get-Features/WindowsMediaPlayer”. This command will display the status of the Windows Media Player feature. If the feature is installed and enabled, it will be listed as “Enabled”. If the feature is not installed and enabled, it will be listed as “Disabled”.

In addition to checking if a Windows Feature is installed and enabled, DISM can also be used to install and uninstall Windows Features. To install a Windows Feature, the command “DISM/Online/Enable-Feature/FeatureName” can be used, where “FeatureName” is the name of the feature to be installed. To uninstall a Windows Feature, the command “DISM/Online/Disable-Feature/FeatureName” can be used, where “FeatureName” is the name of the feature to be uninstalled.

DISM is a powerful tool that can be used to quickly and easily manage Windows Features on a system. It can be used to check if a Windows Feature is installed and enabled, as well as to install and uninstall Windows Features. By using DISM, IT administrators can quickly and easily manage the Windows Features on their systems, ensuring that the system runs smoothly and efficiently.
