How do I get Windows Terminal to stop asking me every time I paste something into the terminal?

Pasting content from an external source into Windows Terminal can be an annoying problem for many IT administrators. The problem is caused by the Terminal's default setting that prompts the user to confirm the paste action every time they attempt to paste something into the command line. While this can be a useful security feature, it can also be a major roadblock for IT administrators who use the Terminal on a regular basis.

Fortunately, the problem can be solved by changing the Terminal's default settings. To do this, open the Terminal and go to the “Settings” tab. From here, select the “General” tab and uncheck the “Confirm paste” option. This will disable the prompt and allow you to paste content into the Terminal without having to confirm it each time.

It is also possible to customize the Terminal even further by changing the “Terminal Appearance” settings. From the same “Settings” window, you can change the font size, window size, and background color. You can also enable a “Dark Mode” which will make the Terminal more visually appealing.

It is also possible to customize the commands that the Terminal will execute when you press the Enter key. By default, the Terminal will execute the command that you type in, but you can change this by going to the “Keyboard” tab and selecting the “Send text” option. This will allow you to select a command to execute when the Enter key is pressed.

Finally, you can customize the Terminal even further by enabling its “Command History” feature. This will allow you to easily navigate back to previous commands that you have entered. To enable this feature, go to the “Settings” tab, select the “History” tab, and check the “Enable Command History” option.

By changing the Terminal’s default settings, IT administrators can make their work more efficient and less frustrating. By disabling the paste prompt, customizing the Terminal’s appearance, and enabling the “Command History” feature, IT administrators can make the most out of their Windows Terminal experience.
