DEL *1.* deletes all files in folder

As an IT administrator, you may find yourself in a situation where deleting a single file from a folder is not enough to meet your needs. You may need to delete multiple files or even all the files in a folder at once. Deleting files one at a time can be time-consuming and tedious, but luckily there is a command in Windows that can do this for you. The command is known as “del” and it will allow you to delete one or multiple files in a folder at the same time.

The del command is a command line utility that is included with the Windows operating system. It is used to delete one or more files in a folder on a computer. The del command can be used in both the command line interface as well as in batch files.

To delete a single file from a folder using the del command, you can simply type “del filename” at the command prompt. This will delete the file from the folder. If you want to delete multiple files from the folder, you can type “del filename1 filename2 filename3”. This will delete all the files from the folder at once.

To delete all the files from a folder using the del command, you can type “del *” at the command prompt. This will delete all the files from the folder at once. Note that this will not delete any subfolders or files within the subfolders. If you want to delete those as well, you will need to use the deltree command.

When using the del command, it is important to be aware that it will permanently delete the files and they cannot be recovered. Therefore, it is important to make sure that you are deleting the correct files. It is also important to note that the del command will not delete any hidden or system files. If you want to delete these, you will need to use the attrib command.

In summary, the del command is a command line utility included with the Windows operating system that can be used to delete one or multiple files in a folder at once. The del command is simple to use and can be used in the command line interface or in batch files. However, it is important to note that the files deleted with the del command cannot be recovered, so it is important to make sure you are deleting the correct files. Additionally, the del command will not delete any hidden or system files, so you will need to use the attrib command if you want to delete those.
