Can I manually add a thumbnail web page to the Chrome homepage?
As an IT administrator, there may come a time when you need to add a thumbnail web page to the Chrome homepage. While most users are used to having their favorite websites already configured on the homepage, in some cases, you may need to add a special page that may not be available by default.
Fortunately, Google Chrome makes it easy to manually add a thumbnail web page to the homepage. Here’s how to do it:
1. Open Google Chrome and click on the ‘Customize and control Google Chrome’ icon in the upper right-hand corner.
2. Select ‘Settings’.
3. Under the ‘Appearance’ heading, select ‘Show Home Button’, if it isn’t already enabled.
4. Click ‘Change’ next to the ‘Open this page’ option and enter the URL of the web page you want to add.
5. Click ‘OK’.
6. You will now see a thumbnail of the web page in the ‘Home’ section of Google Chrome.
That’s all there is to it. Now when users open Chrome, they will see the thumbnail of the web page you added to the homepage.
It should be noted that if users click on the thumbnail, it will open the web page in a new tab. If you want the web page to open in the same tab, you will need to change the settings in the ‘On Startup’ section of the ‘Settings’ page.
It’s also important to note that you can only add one thumbnail web page to the homepage. If you need to add more than one, you will need to use the ‘New Tab’ page feature. To do this, select the ‘New Tab page’ option under the ‘On Startup’ heading and enter the URLs of the web pages you want to add.
As you can see, it’s relatively easy to manually add a thumbnail web page to the Chrome homepage. This can be a useful feature for IT administrators who need to configure a special page for their users. With just a few clicks, you can add the web page you need and have it appear on the Chrome homepage.
