Any way to "ungroup" taskbar items in Windows?

Question: Is there any way to ungroup taskbar items in Windows?

Answer: Yes, there is a way to ungroup taskbar items in Windows. By default, Windows will group taskbar items together when multiple windows of the same program are open. This makes it easier to switch between windows of the same program, but it can also be confusing or cluttered if you have a lot of programs open at once. Fortunately, there is an option to turn off taskbar item grouping so that each window will have its own taskbar icon.

To ungroup taskbar items in Windows, right-click on an empty area of the taskbar and select “Taskbar Settings” from the menu. In the Taskbar Settings window, scroll down to the “Multiple displays” section and make sure the “Show taskbar on all displays” option is turned on. Next, scroll down to the “Taskbar” section and make sure the “Group taskbar items” option is turned off. Once both of these options have been set, click “OK” to save the changes and the taskbar items will no longer be grouped.

It is also possible to ungroup taskbar items on a per-program basis. To do this, right-click on an empty area of the taskbar and select “Taskbar Settings”. In the Taskbar Settings window, scroll down to the “Taskbar items” section and make sure the “Combine taskbar items” option is turned off. Then, click on the arrow next to the program you want to ungroup and select “Never combine” from the drop-down menu. Repeat this process for any other programs you want to ungroup, then click “OK” to save the changes and the taskbar items will no longer be grouped.

Ungrouping taskbar items can be a great way to keep your taskbar organized and make it easier to find the window you’re looking for. It can also be beneficial if you have a large number of windows open and don’t want them all grouped together. By following the steps outlined above, you can easily turn off taskbar item grouping in Windows and ungroup taskbar items on a per-program basis.
