Alternative to Sandboxie for 64-bit systems?

As IT administrators, our goal is to ensure that the systems we manage are secure and free from malicious software and other threats. To achieve this, we often use sandboxing software, which isolates applications and processes from the rest of the system, preventing them from making permanent changes or accessing sensitive data. Unfortunately, many of the most popular sandboxing programs, such as Sandboxie, are not available for 64-bit systems. Fortunately, there are several alternative solutions that can provide similar protection for 64-bit systems.

One of the most popular alternatives to Sandboxie is BufferZone Pro. BufferZone Pro creates “zones” on the system, isolating them from the rest of the system and preventing unauthorized access and changes. It also has a built-in antivirus scanner and can be used to test new programs before they are installed on the system. BufferZone Pro is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems and is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7.

Another alternative to Sandboxie is Returnil Virtual System. Returnil Virtual System creates a virtual environment on the system, isolating it from the rest of the system. It also has a built-in antivirus scanner, and it can prevent malicious programs from modifying system files or running in the background. Returnil Virtual System is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems and is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7.

A third alternative to Sandboxie is Shadow Defender. Shadow Defender creates a virtual environment on the system, isolating it from the rest of the system. It also has a built-in antivirus scanner, and it can prevent malicious programs from making permanent changes to the system. Shadow Defender is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems and is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7.

Finally, it is also possible to use virtual machines to create isolated environments on the system. Virtual machines are programs that create virtual computers within the existing system, allowing the user to install and run applications in a secure environment. Virtual machines are available for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems, and they are compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7.

Overall, there are several alternatives to Sandboxie that can provide similar protection for 64-bit systems. BufferZone Pro, Returnil Virtual System, Shadow Defender, and virtual machines are all viable options for isolating applications and processes from the rest of the system. Each of these solutions has its own advantages and disadvantages, so IT administrators should carefully evaluate their needs and choose the one that best meets their requirements.
